Maon

A common claim by Palestinian is we were here before the Jews. Well the Archelogy prove otherwise.  Synagogue were found in Gaza City and in Maon well before the Islam was born and the migration from Saudia occurred. In Gaza city a mosaic floor of a Synagogue was found with King David plays the Harp. In Maon ancient synagogue was built before the 6th century, holds a rich history

The mosaic features a vase (amphora) with two peacocks and a vine decorated with birds, animals, and winemaking scenes. Unique to this synagogue is a menorah flanked by lions, palm trees, and other Jewish symbols like the shofar and lulav. An Aramaic inscription blesses the community and honors three donors

There is a confusion between the Menorah which has 7 candles and the Hanuka Menorah that has 9 candles.

The Menorah with the 7 candles was in the temple holy of holy and was lost after the destruction to the Temple.

The Hannukah Menorah comes to commemorate the miracle during the Hellenistic period where a small oil cane provided light for 8 days.

The Menorah with the 7 candles is the actual symbol of the state of Israel .  People mistakenly think that the star of David is an old Jewish symbol. Yet it was adopted by Jewish people only about 700 years ago in Prague.
